The Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure is a unique event, designed and implemented to promote positive awareness, education and early detection of breast cancer. As well as being a road race for runners, the Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure is an emotionally charged event that attracts approximately 10,000 participants, 700 of them survivors. It is one of the largest races in the Quad City region.

Local sponsorship is critical to our ability to support local breast cancer programs and national research grants. Sponsor gifts help underwrite Race expenses and, along with entry fees and donations from Race participants, go directly toward funding breast cancer services and research. When you invest in a Susan G. Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure® sponsorship, you invest in the lives of the people closest to you... the people of your community... your family, colleagues, neighbors and friends.

The money raised is used to support education, screening and treatment through the Komen Quad Cities Affiliate grant program. The majority of the dollars raised are granted to the voucher program that benefits the underserved and underinsured women in our eight-county service area. In Iowa the counties served include Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine and Scott and in Illinois the counties include Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, and Whiteside. Most important , up to 75 percent of the dollars that are raised by the Race stay in our service area, with the remaining 25 percent going to the National Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Research Program.
